About the Job

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Systems Specialist to join our team in Portsmouth Naval Base. In this role, you will be responsible for commissioning, setting to work and defect diagnosis of complex mechanical systems on-board Royal Navy vessels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Estimated salary: £55,000 - £75,000 per annum
  • Commissioning of mechanical systems within a marine environment, including sea water cooling systems, fresh water systems, steering and stabilising systems
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Royal Navy personnel on the operation of their equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Working on the Royal Navy's flagship project, delivering designated trials and commissioning activities
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems on-board ships and commissioning of mechanical systems within a marine environment
  • Able to fault find and diagnose defects on mechanical systems
  • NVQ Level 3 & 4 to support inspection and maintenance engineering activities
