Senior Ecologist Position Overview

Penguin Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join a fast-growing, family-run contractor specializing in rail, forestry, and environmental services. This role presents a unique opportunity for a passionate professional to contribute to the delivery of ecological services across various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Ecological Site Surveys and produce Preliminary Ecological Assessments.
  • Assist in Ecological Impact and Habitat Regulation Assessments.
  • Lead and assist in Protected Species Surveys and participate in data analysis, report writing, and designing mitigation measures.

Job Requirements:

  • Protected Species Licence(s)
  • Knowledge of UK protected species and relevant legislation
  • Proficiency with GIS or mapping software
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and report-writing skills
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the southern region
  • Project management experience

About the Role:

This permanent position offers a competitive salary of £45,000, along with growth opportunities, 20 days leave + bank holidays, full PPE, flexible working arrangements, and a company vehicle and fuel card.
