A vacancy exists for a skilled Legal Cashier to support the Finance department at Law Support Limited, a prominent law firm in Manchester. This full-time position comes with a competitive salary range of £28,000 - £32,000 annually.

About the Position

You will play a vital role in managing the firm's financial accounts, ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts rules, HMRC's MTD for VAT legislation, and Anti-Money Laundering Directives.

Main Responsibilities
  • Receiving, banking, and processing Client/currency and Deposit receipts
  • Reviewing and processing Client/currency/deposit payment requisitions
  • Processing inter-ledger transfers, including setting up Money Market Deposits
  • Resolving unidentified cheques promptly and investigating discrepancies
  • Collaborating with the client account team on bank account openings and closures
  • Providing assistance with internal requests and queries
  • Maintaining compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and reporting any breaches to the firm's COFA
  • Performing other tasks as needed, including year-end audits with external auditors
  • Investigating and returning funds, working closely with partners on residual balances
  • Preparing cash statements and reports as required
