Job Overview

The Senior Healthcare Assistant (Level 3) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients with complex health needs. This position requires a high degree of autonomy, allowing the post holder to work independently and undertake a range of health and care tasks in accordance with policy and procedures.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will contribute to assessment and assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans. They will also supervise other staff and promote the delivery of high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver care to patients with complex health needs within their homes
  • Support patients and their families
  • Work collaboratively with the Community Nursing Service to ensure that individuals' needs are met as quickly as possible
  • Travel between sites in a timely manner

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of QCF Level 3 (formerly NVQ Level 3) in Health or a willingness to complete this qualification within an agreed timeframe. They will also have evidence of maintaining their personal development and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous relevant experience in the specialty
  • Ability to perform venepuncture, simple wound care, and catheter care
