Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Research Scientist to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for researching and developing cutting-edge generative AI algorithms and building ML systems to address real-world challenges.

As an Applied Scientist, you will collaborate with AI/ML scientists, engineers, and architects to design, develop, and evaluate cutting-edge generative AI algorithms and build ML systems to address real-world challenges. You will interact with customers directly to understand their business problems and help them implement generative AI solutions. Additionally, you will create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, publications, sample code, and presentations adapted to technical, business, and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with AI/ML scientists, engineers, and architects to research, design, develop, and evaluate cutting-edge generative AI algorithms and build ML systems to address real-world challenges.
  2. Interact with customers directly to understand their business problems, help and aid them in implementation of generative AI solutions, deliver briefing and deep dive sessions to customers and guide customer on adoption patterns and paths to production.
  3. Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, publications, sample code, and presentations adapted to technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
  4. Provide customer and market feedback to Product and Engineering teams to help define product direction.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing
- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
- Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
- 4+ years of deep learning, computer vision, human robotic interaction, algorithms implementation experience
- Hands on experience with deep learning (e.g., CNN, RNN, LSTM, Transformer)
- Prior experience in training and fine-tuning of Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Knowledge of AWS platform and tools
