About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Solicitor to join our Serious Injury team at QED Legal. As an Associate Solicitor, you will be responsible for handling a portfolio of claimant serious injury claims and contributing to the general success of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Care: Deliver excellent client care to our clients who have suffered from a traumatic and life-changing event, on your individual cases and overseeing the team.
  • Team Leadership: Motivate and lead the team, ensuring clear objectives and KPIs are followed, performance issues are actively managed, and development plans are in place in accordance with company policy.
  • Casework: Handle a portfolio of compensation claims, including road traffic accident cases with complex technical issues and quantum.
  • Collaboration: Work with a multi-disciplinary team of experts, including medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, and counsel.
  • Analysis and Research: Analyze evidence and research legal issues on liability, causation, and quantum.
  • Document Preparation: Draft documents, including statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss.
  • Settlement Optimization: Secure early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation, and optimize your client's settlement.
Person Specification
  • A qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEx with a minimum of 8 years Post Qualification Experience or can demonstrate equivalent experience to charge and recover Grade A rates.
  • Proven track record of dealing with serious injury claims; an experienced litigator with strong technical ability and practical knowledge of the court procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, including negotiation and objection handling.
  • Accountable for achieving objectives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of work quality and client care.
  • Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Good attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
