We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vocational Skills Assessor to join our team at the Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating effective and efficient practical and online assessments of learners, as well as the development of their commercial, employability, and enterprise skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess learners on a variety of programmes across the School, including Level 1, 2 and Level 3 in hairdressing and/or barbering and Customer Service.
  • Provide prompt and constructive feedback after the assessment.
  • Ensure a strong client base in the Commercial salons, meeting income targets and undertaking assessments in the College salons and other practical areas.
  • Support the teaching teams and learners in the reception, salon, and practical areas, assisting learners in working professionally and developing commercial and employability skills.
  • Reception duties will include daily cashing up, managing client bookings, increasing client numbers and weekly income targets, and promoting retail sales, campaigns, and displays.
  • As our Vocational Skills Assessor, you should hold a Level 3 qualification in hairdressing and/or barbering, demonstrate recent industrial experience, and possess excellent demonstration skills in hairdressing.
  • You will also hold an assessing qualification (or be willing to work towards one) and have awareness of academic quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 qualification in hairdressing and/or barbering.
