Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary School Based)


About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist primary school in Shrewsbury. The school provides a stimulating environment for children aged 3 to 11 years old, who have a statement of Autism or related communication needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities to children with special educational needs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for children with Autism or related communication needs.
  • Provide one-to-one support to children with special needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly Autism.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and special educational needs.
