The Prince of Wales Hospice is a leading not-for-profit organisation providing specialist palliative care to adults with terminal diagnoses and their families. As a Personal Fundraising Specialist, you will play a crucial role in securing vital funding to support the hospice's life-changing services.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate fundraising professional to join our team as a Personal Fundraising Specialist. This exciting opportunity will involve planning and executing individual giving campaigns, managing legacy administration, and building strong relationships with solicitors, will writers, spiritual leaders, and funeral directors.

About the Role

This permanent, full-time position is based at our hospice in Pontefract and offers a competitive salary of £35,000 per annum, reflecting the charity's commitment to staff development and well-being. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing effective individual giving strategies to maximize income streams
  • Managing legacy administration, including stewardship and recognition of donors
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including solicitors, will writers, and funeral directors
  • Contribute to the development of the Income Generation Business Plan and budgets
  • Collaborate with the Fundraising and Marketing Teams to deliver campaigns and communications across all channels

Requirements

To succeed in this rewarding role, you will possess:

  • Proven experience in individual giving fundraising or a related field
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • A customer relationship management database (CRM) and knowledge of fundraising CRM systems
  • Experience line managing or supervising staff or volunteers (desirable)
  • Ability to independently travel to external meetings and events
  • Strong emotional intelligence and empathy
