Academic Coach

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Academic Coach to join our team at a school in Leicester, LE18. This long-term position offers a competitive salary of £95-£105 per day.

The successful candidate will have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and a proven track record of helping students with challenging behaviour and special educational needs to progress academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualised behaviour plans (IBPs) to support students with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and pastoral support to students with diverse needs.
• Work closely with staff, students, and families to promote student wellbeing and academic success.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working with SEND students, particularly in an SEMH or alternative provision setting.
• A genuine passion for empowering vulnerable students and promoting inclusive education.
• A proactive approach to supporting students with complex behaviour and fostering emotional wellbeing.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training and knowledge of child protection policies.
• Ability to support students in a 1:1 or small group setting, using restorative practices and positive behaviour management.
• Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate with child barred list clearance, registered on the online update service, or be willing to apply for one.
• Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
