About the Role

The Clinical Lead for Medicines Optimisation will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Medicines Optimisation across Greater Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work proactively across organisational boundaries to improve health outcomes and the way services are delivered.

Key Responsibilities

The post holder will bring medical clinical leadership to the Medicines Optimisation team, working with the strategic GM team and network with locality teams, including medicines optimisation leads within localities.

The role will include active participation at key medicine optimization meetings and leading on key areas of work, as defined by the Chief Pharmacist/Deputy Chief Pharmacist. The post holder will represent a medical view in the strategic development of medicine optimization plans, strategies and work programmes as well as provide operational detail around key areas of work.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a Clinician registered with a recognised Clinical Professional Body, with formal management qualification and/or proven and significant leadership experience. They will have a detailed knowledge and understanding of NHS Health and Care services at a National, Regional and local level, as well as experience of working at a Senior level within the NHS and considerable senior experience of leading in integrated health and care settings.
