Care Support Specialist

We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team at Granville Lodge in Hartlepool, supporting children and young people who require a high level of skilled care.
As a Support Worker, you will be working on a rota system, covering various shifts including mornings, afternoons, and evenings, including weekends. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, building positive relationships, and supporting them to make progress in every area of their lives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Keeping the child's safety and well-being paramount and at the centre of your practice
- Building positive relationships with our children and young people, which are open and two-way
- Supporting our children and young people to make progress in every area of their lives
- Contributing towards the planning and delivery of child-centred care plans, working alongside all other agencies involved with the child
- Maintaining accurate records
- Establishing methods of communication with our children and young people, reducing barriers when necessary
- Assisting with mealtimes where necessary
- Supporting with activities of daily living and personal care
What we're looking for:
- A genuine interest in providing the best person-centred care possible for our young people
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Experience working within the care sector or learning disabilities would be an advantage but not essential
- A full clean driving licence and willingness to transport our children and young people in the company mini bus would be an advantage but not essential
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
