We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Harrow. The successful candidate will have a strong background in adult psychiatry and a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care.


Job Summary

The post holder will be responsible for providing senior medical cover to our 12-bed Male Acute ward, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and dedicated psychiatrist to take on new challenges and develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior medical cover to the Male Acute ward, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver a recovery-focused service, promoting the well-being and dignity of all patients.
  • Develop and implement risk assessment and risk management strategies to ensure patient safety.
  • Participate in ward rounds and clinical audits to maintain high standards of patient care.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Consultant Psychiatrist who has a strong background in adult psychiatry and a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.


Person Specification

The post holder will require:



  • Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
  • Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12 and AC Status
  • Experienced & knowledgeable in adult psychiatry & mental health diagnosis
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
  • A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear, comprehensive medical notes
  • Committed to continued professional development
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • A member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent
