We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Caretaker. As a key member of our estate services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our properties.
Main DutiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Carrying out cleaning duties, including emptying bins and maintaining communal areas
- Providing information and assistance to residents, including responding to queries and resolving issues
- Reporting any repairs or maintenance needs to the relevant teams
- Working with other caretaking staff to carry out tasks and projects as required
- Assisting with the distribution of stores and equipment, including loading and unloading estate services vehicles
- Completing daily management control information and other documentation as required
- Keeping records of complaints made by tenants and reporting any incidents or concerns to the relevant teams
As a Caretaker with Islington Council, you will be part of a team that is committed to providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of property maintenance. You will work closely with other teams, including the Mobile Team Supervisor/Service Delivery Manager, to ensure that our estates are well-maintained and that residents receive the support they need.
Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience of cleaning or caretaking duties
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to react to and deal with emergency situations
- Ability to work outdoors in all weathers and cope with the physical demands of the job
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends
- Displays an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people and/or vulnerable adults
