Our client is a leading house builder based across the UK, with a specific project focus in London.

Job Description

The key responsibilities as the Technical Cladding Project Manager are as follows:

  1. Responsibility and accountability for project budget control and financial delivery of the Cladding Remediation.
  2. Effective and proactive communications supporting internal comms teams and dealings with freeholders and management companies to ensure delivery of a safe, fair, and proportionate remedial solution to buildings.
  3. Effective contract and scope negotiation with design teams, contractors, freeholders, and management.
  4. Ensure awareness of political, regulatory, industry-related, and environmental developments which may impact delivery and priorities as necessary.
  5. Responsible for ensuring coordinated media management through internal/corporate communications.
  6. Ensure risk is fully understood and managed, and actioned to the appropriate time frames to deliver the project.
  7. Clearly define roles and responsibilities across all consultants and contractors to ensure project objectives are met.
  8. Responsible for various cladding remediation projects, ensuring fire safety risk is effectively addressed before, during, and after remedial works.
  9. Building solid and trusted relationships with other Technical PMs in the team, Commercial teams, and Production teams to ensure consistent construction quality and approach where controls remediation works.
  10. Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legislation, procedures, and best practices, including the FRAEW and EWS1 assessment process and applicable standards for cladding remediation projects.
  11. Ensure CDM/EMS procedures are followed on all projects.
  12. Effectively manage each project to achieve the efficient, comprehensive, safe, and proportionate remediation of buildings within scope, focusing on safety, quality, budget, and risk management.
  13. Responsible for CDM Project health, safety, and environmental management, working with the internal HSE team and engaged advisors.
  14. Ensure delivery of the expected requirements, including timescales, quality, and risk mitigation, ensuring effective oversight of the works, completion, and handover.
The Successful Applicant

The successful Technical Cladding Project Manager will need:

  1. Degree or professional qualification in property, development, construction, or a related field (or equivalent work experience and a clear plan for achieving the necessary qualifications).
  2. Proven track record within the construction industry, with experience gained in working with developers, contractors, and other related partners.
  3. Strong understanding of residential construction, with a proven track record of delivering high-profile, complex construction projects to time, cost, and quality standards.
  4. Proven track record of managing a range of stakeholder relationships, including local authorities, landowners, developers, and contractors.
  5. High standard of financial literacy & analytical skills.
  6. Planning and organisation skills.
  7. Able to drive and travel in and around London as and when required to go to sites.
