Key Responsibilities:- Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to the school's menu, ensuring nutritional guidelines are met.
- Food Safety and Sanitation: Follow food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen.
- Meal Planning and Inventory: Assist with meal planning, portion control, and managing dietary requirements. Monitor inventory, ensuring supplies are used efficiently and replenished as needed.
- Communication and Teamwork: Maintain effective communication with kitchen staff, school administrators, and suppliers.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow school and government regulations related to food service in an educational environment.
- Experience: Proven experience as a cook in a similar role, ideally within an educational or large-scale catering environment.
- Certification: PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) certification is essential.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
