About the Role:

We are seeking a flexible and experienced Administrative Assistant to join our established team at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital.

As an Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for welcoming patients, consultants, and hospital teams in a warm, professional, and caring manner. You will also direct patients and staff to the hospital, ensure accurate collection of credit card details and patient information, and manage the hospital switchboard efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming patients and directing them to the correct department
  • Registering patients accurately, including collecting credit card details and patient information
  • Managing the hospital switchboard and responding to calls and enquiries promptly
  • Cash handling within the parameters of the 'Handling Cash Policy'
  • Discharging patients onto the computer system ensuring accuracy of all information
  • Undertaking various clerical duties, including checking bed status reports and ordering newspapers

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good basic PC skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • High degree of accuracy in administration
  • Great communication skills at all levels
  • Experience in a customer service environment
  • Switchboard experience desirable

Working Hours:

The successful candidate will work on a flexible basis, with occasional Saturdays and Sundays. The working hours will be between 6:30 am and 21:30 Monday to Friday, with occasional shifts on weekends.

Salary:

We offer a competitive hourly rate of £11.48 per hour, reflecting the demands of the role and the qualifications required.
