Claims Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Claims Manager to join our team at Thistle Insurance Services. As a Claims Manager, you will be responsible for leading our Claims Department and ensuring that our customers receive a first-class Claims experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Claims Team Leadership: Manage and support the Claims team to deliver exceptional service and a seamless Claims journey for our customers.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and improve performance indicators, service targets, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain effective relationships with insurers and internal stakeholders, providing insights into Claims performance and adherence to Consumer Duty principles.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reporting and analysis on Claims performance, including acceptance, settlement, and declinature rates, handling times, and telephony response times.
  • Escalation and Resolution: Act as the escalation point for authorisations, complaints, and fraud identification, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Team Development: Conduct regular team meetings and 121s to discuss performance, wellbeing, and personal development, and lead internal and external Claims audits.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Claims Management role, with a strong understanding of Claims processes and procedures.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills, with the ability to influence and manage teams and stakeholders.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance principles and practices, including Consumer Duty principles.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and able to develop and maintain effective relationships with insurers and internal stakeholders.
