Job Title: Maths Educator

Job Summary: GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled Maths Educator to join our team in a special educational setting. As a Maths Educator, you will be responsible for designing and delivering Maths lessons that cater to the needs of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and moderate learning difficulties.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning: Create and implement tailored Maths lesson plans that engage students with SEMH and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Teaching and Assessment: Deliver Maths lessons that promote academic curiosity and emotional growth, and assess student progress regularly.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with fellow teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure the holistic development of each student.
  • Classroom Management: Promote a nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages emotional growth and academic curiosity.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Maths or a related subject.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching Maths to students in special educational settings, particularly with SEMH and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of adapting instruction for diverse learning needs and effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
