Personal Care Assistant - Bristol

We are seeking a dedicated Carer for a young man living with his family at home. The successful candidate will have experience in supporting individuals with learning difficulties and epilepsy, providing person-centred care to enhance their daily life.

The ideal candidate will enjoy being outdoors and engaging in diverse activities to promote social interaction and independence. A typical day may involve:

  1. Assisting with morning routines, including bathing and dressing.
  2. Maintaining the individual's hygiene and cleanliness.
  3. Planning and participating in community-based activities, such as walks, cycling, or visiting local attractions.
  4. Preparing meals and snacks, considering dietary requirements and preferences.

Duties include:

  1. Creating activity plans tailored to the individual's needs and interests.
  2. Ensuring medication is administered correctly and on time.
  3. Completing minimal administrative tasks related to the role.

This position requires a reliable and honest individual who can build trust with the client and their family. A keen interest in dogs is beneficial, as they form part of the household.

Salary: £11-£15 per hour (dependent on experience)

Hours: 16-25 hours a week, based on a set 3-week rota, with flexible shift times (8am-2pm or 2pm-8pm) and potential for additional hours covering holidays.
