Job Title: Mechanical Field Engineer

Assystem GmbH is an international company with a mission to accelerate the energy transition worldwide. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Field Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing surveillance to ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with the contractor's work information. This will involve working closely with the construction and quality team to identify potential quality issues and implement mitigating actions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct surveillance to ensure compliance with contract requirements
  • Contribute to the development of quality control plans and inspection records
  • Identify and report potential quality issues to the construction and quality team
  • Support the implementation of temporary measures to mitigate quality issues
  • Ensure design decisions are made through a formal process
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of construction drawings and quality control plans
  • Review contractor performance against quality control plans
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Welding Inspector qualification (e.g. CSWIP 3) and basic appreciation of NDT qualification
  • Experience in large power plant design, manufacture, and construction
  • Good working knowledge of quality management practices, methods, and processes
  • Knowledge of fabrication and installation of pressure systems
  • Experience in punchlist checks and QA/QC
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the engineering construction industry, materials, trades methods, and legal requirements
