Transaction Management Role at Barclays

We are seeking a skilled Transaction Manager to join our Corporate and Investment Bank team at Barclays. As a Transaction Manager, you will play a critical role in negotiating and executing lending transactions for corporate and investment banking clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate terms and coordinate lending transactions, including syndicated loans, structured finance deals, and other corporate lending activities.
  • Ensure documented terms reflect internal signoffs and meet Barclays' key policies and procedures, across credit risk, pricing, portfolio, legal, sanctions, reputational, compliance, and operational considerations.
  • Minimise risk of impairment and financial loss, negotiating terms that provide Barclays and the lenders generally with appropriate protections during the life of the loan and in any enforcement scenario.
  • Drive market standards, including adherence to key LMA and other market principles, avoiding contagion risk and slippage of terms away from established principles.
  • Maintenance of accurate records of transactions and regular reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identification of areas of inefficiency in the transaction process and developing solutions to improve efficiency and monitor the impact of process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Consult on complex issues, providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business-aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources, such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc.), to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. Complex information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
