Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice, guidance, and information to survivors of rape and sexual abuse, empowering them to make informed choices about their future options.
- Support service users in navigating the criminal justice system, ensuring they receive the necessary support and resources.
- Develop and implement individual support plans to address the unique needs and risks of each client.
- Collaborate with local authorities, law enforcement, and other relevant organizations to ensure seamless support and advocacy.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety planning to ensure the well-being and safety of clients.
- Provide emotional support and crisis intervention services to clients, promoting a safe and non-judgmental environment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local service providers, ensuring access to necessary resources and services.
- Participate in case conferences and meetings with law enforcement, prosecutors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective support and advocacy.
- Assist clients in accessing special measures and providing information and support related to Criminal Injuries Compensation.
- Refer clients to relevant services and agencies, such as mental health, counseling, and housing services.
- Actively engage with local voluntary sector agencies and organizations to promote collaboration and support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, risk assessments, and support plans.
- Education to A-level standard or equivalent.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly survivors of rape and sexual abuse.
- Knowledge of the impact of rape and sexual abuse on individuals and communities.
- Understanding of the criminal justice system and its processes.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
- Knowledge of and commitment to diversity issues and cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work safely and within boundaries.
- Completed accredited ISVA training course or equivalent.
