This is an exciting opportunity to join Sequel Business Solutions Ltd as a SQL Server IT Support and Development Professional. As a key member of our IT team, you will work closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality support services to valued clients.

Job Description

In this role, you will provide business-as-usual support services adhering to the ITIL v3 framework of Service Transition, Service Operations, and Continuous Service Improvement. As a Business Support Analyst, you will be part of a team that delivers high-quality support services to valued clients.

  • Be aware of and proficient in executing and adhering to department processes in which training has been supplied
  • Work within a team environment to undertake investigations and assist in resolving application and system issues across multiple products
  • Collect information relating to client requirements pertaining to incidents and service requests using IT Service Management tooling
  • Undertake administrative tasks needed to deliver support services to clients
  • Escalaate/engage with Technical Support, Development, and Service Delivery Management teams as required
  • Develop a basic awareness knowledge of some business processes and associated products which Sequel sells to help clients deliver their business processes
  • Develop an understanding of customers' business and operational environments
  • Assist in creating help centre articles to support both business and technical understanding
  • Raise any risks with senior management or via standard process
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have a formal tertiary qualification, preferably a completed degree in computer science, business information systems, or similar. You must also be able to communicate effectively with both customers (technical and non-technical) and internal stakeholders.

  • An aptitude for problem-solving and client engagement – demonstrate ability to investigate and resolve a variety of software issues; from business process focused to more technical and database issues
  • Able to manage own workload and manage expectations of stakeholders
  • Confidence to seek support of peers and management as required
  • Good grasp of Microsoft Office
  • Prior knowledge of SQL database query writing
  • Some experience working in the insurance industry (especially London Market – Underwriting and/or Broking)
  • Proficient with SQL Server Query Analyser
  • Exposure to web technologies – IIS / CSS / XML
Compensation

The salary for this role is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer access to ongoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to grow your skills and advance your career.
