About the Role
The Gloucestershire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Allegations Management team as a LADO Specialist. This is a specialist key role in ensuring that we as a Local Authority comply with our statutory duties to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing allegations made against adults working with children, ensuring safe and effective decisions are made for children. This will include safeguarding activity within and across agencies, including schools, voluntary organisations, and independent organisations.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years post-qualified social work experience safeguarding children and young people, and previously held a management level role within children's social care. They will also have experience in multi-agency collaboration and partnership working, and be able to work effectively in a sensitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage allegations made against adults working with children
- Ensure safe and effective decisions are made for children
- Conduct safeguarding activity within and across agencies
- Provide training and awareness raising in relation to the safety of children
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualified social work experience safeguarding children and young people
- Previously held a management level role within children's social care
- Experience in multi-agency collaboration and partnership working
- Ability to work effectively in a sensitive environment
