Electrical Engineering Project Engineer

As an Electrical Engineering Project Engineer at WGM, you will play a key role in leading the engagement with suppliers and our in-house construction team. You will also liaise with our in-house design team to provide technical solutions in real-time. WGM is a trusted contractor within the Water Industry, delivering a wide range of Water and Wastewater Projects on long-term contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed site surveys, employing technical expertise for precise measurements, photos, and discussions with operations to understand processes and assess access and egress.
  • Have an understanding of BS7671:2022 and knowledge of electrical testing requirements would be beneficial.
  • Identify process control procedures for asset/site and have good interpersonal and communication skills to build a collaborative working relationship with client operators.
  • Resolve complex technical and logistical issues during project implementation, conducting design reviews, constructability reviews, and on-site checks to ensure the highest standards.
  • Engage suppliers and subcontractors for project services, ensuring design/scope requirements are sufficiently detailed.
  • Conduct thorough technical assessments of supplier quotations, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Support Project Manager in developing construction methodology and programme throughout the project lifecycle, inclusive of pre-construction.
  • Develop and review Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), demonstrating attention to technical intricacies.
  • Regularly report project progress, highlighting technical milestones and outcomes during meetings with the wider Project Delivery Team.

To be considered for this position, you will have at least 2 to 3 years of previous experience within an Industrial Engineering role. You will demonstrate an excellent knowledge of electrical systems in a commercial/industrial environment. Experience in the Water Industry is preferable but not essential for the position. A full UK driving license is required as you will be required to travel to various sites across the country.
