Workshop Operations Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to join our team at Recra Consulting. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the engineering function, ensuring that all maintenance-related activities are carried out in line with our company's maintenance strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Management of the Engineering Function: Oversee the management of the Fleet Maintenance Coordinator, Fleet Administrator, Heavy Goods Technicians, Fixed Engineers, and Field MHE Engineers.
- Maintenance Strategy Implementation: Ensure that all maintenance-related activities are carried out in line with our company's maintenance strategy.
- Compliance Management: Ensure that all compliance is met with regards to Road Transport Legislation, Lift Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER), Provision of Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), Controls of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), and The Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Team Management: Assist the management team to implement change positively, effectively manage strong and weak performance, identify training needs, and provide training and feedback through completing one-to-one reviews, appraisals, and coaching.
- Computerised Mobile Maintenance System Management: Manage the company's Computerised Mobile Maintenance System.
- Stock Management: Manage stock management including allocation, issuing, and replenishment of stock.
- KPI Preparation and Presentation: Prepare and present KPIs.
- Operational Targets and Process Improvement: Work closely with the operational team to deliver operational targets and drive process improvement.
- Risk Assessments and Method Statements: Complete risk assessments and work-based method statements to ensure that maintenance health and safety is of the highest standard and legally compliant.
- Communication and Supplier Management: Maintain open lines of communication with equipment manufacturers and other key operational suppliers.
- Departmental Expenditure Monitoring: Monitor, review, and report on departmental expenditure.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in maintenance-related tasks, including the use of root cause analysis where relevant, and identifying defect trends.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience of running a busy Fleet Workshop.
- Organisational Skills: Excellent Organisational Skills and Attention to Detail.
- Fast-Moving Maintenance Environment: Previous experience of working in a fast-moving maintenance environment.
- Computer Skills: Good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and other computer-based programs.
- Waste and Recycling Sector Experience: Previous experience working in the waste and recycling sector beneficial.
- Leadership and Motivation: Good people skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a multi-skilled workforce and direct reports.
- Computer Literacy: Computer Literate.
- Education: Minimum 5 GCSE's including Mathematics and English.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills, written and oral.
- Dynamic Approach: Dynamic and tenacious approach.
Monday - Friday 8 am-5 pm. Every other Saturday required to be worked 6 am-11 am.
