Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess individual needs, create tailored learning plans, and deliver engaging lessons that reflect the real-world communication needs of learners.
  • Work closely with learners to identify their starting points, continually monitor progress, and adapt teaching methods as necessary to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Promote reading for pleasure and restorative practices as key elements in fostering literacy and personal growth.
  • Provide 1-2-1 support and guidance to each individual to help them achieve their goals.
  • Support learners with their personal development, linking to their long-term employment goals.

Key Requirements:

  • A recognised ESOL teaching qualification such as CELTA, TESOL, or equivalent.
  • Full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or equivalent (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLS) or willingness to work towards.
  • Confidence in using a diverse range of presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in creating an effective training programme to engage and motivate learners in their self-development.
  • Ability to create a comfortable learning environment for learners to ensure an enjoyable experience.
  • The ability to handle challenging situations while remaining calm and in control, especially in a group situation.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of learners.
