We are seeking an experienced Clinical Health Psychologist to join our team at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust, Whittington hospital. The successful candidate will have extensive post-qualification clinical and consulting experience in physical health care, particularly in the area of psychological trauma.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves designing and leading a psychology service for the Critical Care Unit (CCU) at Whittington Health. The role requires providing specialist psychological assessments, evaluating treatment options, and undertaking complex risk assessments. You will also be responsible for liaising with other healthcare staff, teaching and training non-psychology staff, and providing professional supervision to junior psychologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessments using interview and formal psychometric methods.
  • Evaluate and decide on treatment options considering theoretical and therapeutic models.
  • Undertake complex risk assessment and risk management for individual clients.
  • Liaise with other healthcare staff to provide comprehensive care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A postgraduate doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology as accredited by the HCPC.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a clinical or counselling psychologist.
  • Extensive post-doctoral experience working with clients experiencing post-traumatic stress and applying clinical/counselling psychology to physical health problems.
