Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic primary school. The successful candidate will support class teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons, lead small group sessions and whole-class activities as needed, and provide targeted support to students, including those with additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Collaborate with class teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Small Group and Whole-Class Activities: Lead small group sessions and whole-class activities to promote student engagement and understanding.
  • Student Support: Provide targeted support to students, including those with additional learning needs, to ensure they access the curriculum and make progress.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assist in the assessment of students' progress and provide constructive feedback to inform teaching practices.
  • Individualized Learning Plans: Contribute to the development of individualized learning plans to support students' unique needs.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Mentor and guide other teaching assistants and support staff to enhance their skills and confidence.
  • School Events and Activities: Participate in the planning and execution of school events and activities to promote a positive school culture.
Qualifications and Skills
  • HLTA Status: Hold Higher Level Teaching Assistant status or equivalent qualification.
  • Teaching Experience: Proven experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and support staff.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive, energetic, and flexible approach to work.
