Michael Page Finance is seeking a highly skilled Finance Control Specialist to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading internal controls across all areas of the business, documenting and improving standard operating procedures, and partnering with subject matter experts to ensure high-quality control assessments are available and used across all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create accounting manuals to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements, outlining policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Develop and implement detailed standard operating procedures for accounting processes, including AP, AR, Payroll, and Financial reporting.
  • Consult and guide internal stakeholders on SOPs.
  • Lead business/Finance process improvements, serving as the first point of contact for expertise and direction on processes.
  • Manage timelines for process improvement projects, focusing on development, implementation, and operation of new business processes.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in financial regulations, managing and complying with UK government reporting requirements and tax filing.
  • Identify risks that could result in material misstatement of the financial statement, identifying deficiencies or material weaknesses in internal control.
  • Execute audits across departments to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance with policies, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Prepare and present key audit findings and recommendations to the board, monitoring and providing updates on post-implementation and conformance reviews with a focus on continuous improvement and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Formally qualified (ACA, ACCA most likely)
  • Experience with documenting and flowcharting business processes, particularly finance processes.
  • Ability to map and analyze processes required.
  • A strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent overall IT experience in ERP systems and MS Office Packages.
  • Previous experience within FMCG or Manufacturing is desirable.

  • A base salary of circa £50,000 - £60,000 DOE.
