Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Machines Specialist

At ENGINEERINGUK, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer Machines Specialist to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer Machines Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the condition of operating equipment by repairing or replacing failed components, troubleshooting and repairing routine mechanical problems on assigned equipment, conducting preventative maintenance on various manufacturing and packaging equipment, documenting WO's/PM's using computerised maintenance management system, supporting Operations in equipment setup and adjustments to centerline operational output of assigned equipment, participating on MSE teams, training operators in AM activities, and conducting Breakdown Analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and fix mechanical issues within an FMCG environment.
  • Perform routine mechanical problem-solving on process & packaging equipment.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM's) on Process & Packaging Equipment with minimal guidance.
  • Support Operations in equipment setup and training of operators in Autonomous Maintenance (AM) activities.
  • Document Work Orders (WO) using SAP-PPM Plant Maintenance logging and completing maintenance activities on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrate Engagement in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Theory and Concepts through participation in Pillar Teams, training fellow Technicians/Operators in Autonomous Maintenance (AM) activities to include conducting Breakdown Analysis (BDA's).
  • Understand and adhere to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) Procedures, Confined Space Procedures and all other Plant Safety/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements related to supporting machinery uptime.
  • Complete risk assessment / permit to work and formulate method statements to assist in safe undertaking of any activity.
Requirements:
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level on all assigned equipment, i.e. sorting systems and palletizing robots.
  • Willingness to develop required technical skills in welding, basic machinist and fabrication skill sets.
