Job Title: Section Lead Biomedical Scientist in Histopathology

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Section Lead Biomedical Scientist to join our dynamic team in the Histology department at Queen's Hospital, Romford.

About the Role

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Histology Specimen Reception, which includes macroscopic examination and dissection. You will supervise trainees, provide training to all staff in the section, and ensure quality and health and safety standards are maintained.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supervise the receipt and processing of histology specimens
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior staff members
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • FIBMS / MSc in Cellular pathology or Biomedical Science
  • Specialist Diploma in Cellular pathology or equivalence (8 years working as a HCPC registered BMS in histology)
Salary Range

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of £51,883 - £58,544 per annum, inclusive of additional allowances, and a comprehensive benefits package.
