As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and support workers in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients. You will also act as a 'named nurse' for a specific group of inpatients and take responsibility for their individual nursing care needs.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical leadership skills, effective communication and presentational skills, and the ability to motivate and lead a team. You will be passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive learning environment.
Main Duties
- Lead a team of nurses and support workers in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients.
- Act as a 'named nurse' for a specific group of inpatients and take responsibility for their individual nursing care needs.
- Support the ward manager in delivering the unit's objectives in terms of patient care, staff development, and service development.
- Undertake personal development and participate in staff appraisal and clinical supervision.
- Articulate a clear vision of the standards expected within your team and actively contribute to a positive learning environment.
