We are seeking a Senior Psychological Therapist to join our team at the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.

Job Overview

This role involves working within the Gambling Harms Service, where you will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychological therapy to individuals with complex mental health problems. As a senior member of the team, you will also participate in clinical supervision and support the implementation of evidence-based practice.

About the Role
  • To work as a Psychologist/Psychological Therapist within the Gambling Harms Service, delivering specialist interventions and contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
  • To develop and implement strategies for improving client outcomes, including the use of evidenced-based treatments and innovative therapeutic approaches.
  • To provide consultation and supervision to junior members of the team, promoting best practice and supporting their professional development.
  • To engage with stakeholders, including other healthcare professionals and community groups, to ensure effective collaboration and service delivery.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £47,573 per annum, based on national averages and local market conditions. Person Specification
  • A relevant degree in psychology or a related field, with significant experience of working with individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • A strong background in evidence-based practice, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and other established therapeutic approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • An understanding of the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a commitment to promoting these values in all aspects of work.
