Maintenance Engineer Job Description

Wright Staff is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant, equipment, and facilities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Carry out repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM) and carry out PPM schedules as necessary.
  • Collaborate with visiting specialist engineers and report breakdown root cause, equipment faults, and concerns to the line manager.
  • Perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues and make full use of our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Plan and prioritize workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
  • Assist in the meeting of daily production plans and fill in job tickets/CMMS on completion of work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify spares requirements, log usage, and aid in control.
  • Assist in the moving, installation, and repositioning of machines and equipment.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ensure line performance is optimized and communicate all issues to the team leader/shift Production Manager.
  • Notify Maintenance and Production Managers immediately of any stoppages lasting one hour or more.
Requirements:
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills in maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental issues.
