Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

Morrison Energy Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our Renewable Connections business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering electrical works for clients across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop cost-effective and innovative solutions to complex electrical problems.
  • Evaluate project risks and potential issues.
  • Deliver projects at various stages of maturity, including feasibility studies and detailed design.
  • Prepare electrical deliverables, such as single line diagrams and cable calculations.
  • Collaborate with vendors to develop equipment packages and participate in technical evaluations.
  • Liaise with project management staff to provide design services in line with project programme requirements.
  • Finalize and sign off designs before delivery.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for project development.
  • Prepare and review technical reports.
  • Assist in the technical and estimating element of tender preparation.
Requirements:
  • Degree/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in the renewable energy sector and non-regulated sectors.
  • Proven track record in providing technical solutions for electrical and civil engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of high voltage equipment and systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of battery energy storage systems, solar PV installations, and data centre electrical installations.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of grid and DNO standards.
  • Organized with a high attention to detail.
  • Understanding of planning and sequencing of construction projects.
