Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant Aseptic Services Specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic professional to join our aseptic team at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant Aseptic Services, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and effective aseptic services within the Trust.
Main Duties- Provide an effective and patient-focused aseptic service, including the preparation and in-process check of chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition products within a cleanroom facility under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Work as part of the aseptic team to assemble ingredients for items to be made according to worksheets and SOPs, generate worksheets and labels according to SOPs and prescriptions, and undertake transfer disinfection into the aseptic unit and isolators according to procedures.
- Prepare and dispense aseptically produced items, including chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, and Parenteral Nutrition, and carry out In Process Checks during the preparation of products.
- Participate in the dispensary weekend and Bank Holiday rotas, and contribute to the cleaning and environmental monitoring media activities within the clean room.

Person SpecificationQualifications & Training
- GCSE Maths/English and Science grade C or above or 4 (or equivalent)
Desirable
- Previous training in aseptic services
- Pre and In Process Checking within Aseptic Services (PIPC) accreditation
- Level 2 BTEC/NVQ in Pharmacy Services or Functional skills Level 2
- Science Manufacturing Process Operative Level 2
Experience
- Experience of working in teams
- Experience of working in a busy environment
- Experience in stock control
- Experience working in a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment
Desirable
- Pharmacy experience in either a hospital or community setting
- Relevant experience of working in technical services or an Industry GMP related environment
Knowledge
- Demonstrates knowledge of current legislations and regulations, COSHH and Health and Safety at Work Act
- Understanding of stock control systems
- Understanding of the importance of adherence to SOPs and legislation
Desirable
- Demonstrates practical knowledge of Quality systems
- Knowledge of Safe and Secure Handling of Medicines requirements
- Demonstrates a good understanding of patient safety initiatives
- Demonstrates practical knowledge of GMP
