Quantity Surveyor Job Description

Contract Scotland is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project leaders to ensure the delivery of high-quality services, offer guidance on contract conditions and commercial matters, and maintain precise financial control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct monthly Cost Value Reconciliations to ensure accurate financial control.
  • Maximise valuations, ensure timely certification and payment to maintain a healthy cash flow.
  • Manage contract variations promptly to avoid delays and additional costs.
  • Forecast costs and value of all trades to inform project decisions.
  • Coordinate with the operational team to secure labour, materials, and subcontractors, ensuring timely and within-budget project completion.
  • Monitor on-site progress and issue required notices according to contract procedures and timelines.
  • Vet and ensure compliance of quotations with specifications, obtaining competitive bids.
  • Prepare Final Accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Accurately manage subcontractor accounts to enhance contract efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of demonstrable Quantity Surveying experience within Civil Engineering Projects.
  • Experience with NEC contracts is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving license.
