The Director of Strategic Communications is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications plan to promote the World Affairs Council's mission and programs. This includes overseeing the design and implementation of marketing, outreach, social media, website, and customer relationship management (CRM) strategies and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an annual communications and marketing calendar in collaboration with colleagues and external partners.
  • Serve as the curator and steward of external communications, including drafting content and reviewing copywriting done by others to ensure a consistent organizational voice utilizing key messaging.
  • Lead the development and implementation of key communications pieces, such as annual reports, newsletters, event descriptions, fundraising appeals, remarks for staff speaking engagements, standard presentations, flyers, marketing tools, and letters written on behalf of the organization.

This role requires excellent oral communication, professional writing, design, and proofreading skills. The successful candidate will have 5 years of experience in communications and marketing, a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and key communications technologies, including social media, content management systems, and digital analytics tools.

Salary & Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $68,500, commensurate with experience.
