About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Applied Scientist to join our Amazon Advertising team in Edinburgh, Scotland. As a key member of our Audiences team, you will be responsible for developing and deploying advanced machine learning models to optimize targeting and improve ad relevance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement large-scale machine learning models to drive business impact
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning solutions into our advertising platform
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable software components to support our machine learning infrastructure
  • Contribute to the development of our product strategy and roadmap, leveraging innovative research in deep learning

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
  • Experience building large-scale machine learning products and leading machine learning teams
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality, scalable machine learning projects
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and deep learning techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in advertising technologies, recommender systems, or search
  • Experience operating in ambiguous environments and collaborating with multiple teams
  • Solid experience collaborating with engineering teams to adapt deep learning solutions to meet strict latency targets
