Job Title: Depot Manager

King Lifting is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Depot Manager to join our team at our Avonmouth site. As a Depot Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of our crane operations, including the management of our assets, labour, and accessory equipment.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of cranes, transport, or hire desk operations and will be able to lead a team of experienced operators and administration support staff. You will also be responsible for engaging with clients and negotiating contracts with existing and new customers.

In addition to your technical skills and experience, you will possess excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively. A CPCS qualification would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall crane operations at the Avonmouth depot
  • Lead a team of experienced operators and administration support staff
  • Engage with clients and negotiate contracts with existing and new customers
  • Manage assets, labour, and accessory equipment
  • Ensure optimum utilisation of assets and maximum profitability
  • Meet KPIs and SLAs with the support of business head office functions
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience preferably gained within the crane or plant hire industry
  • Operational understanding of cranes, transport, or hire desk
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Prioritisation and the ability to work under pressure
  • CPCS qualification an advantage
