Job Description
As a Senior Cloud / DevOps Engineer, you will work as part of the Tech Delivery organisation supporting the engineering and continued development of a growing AWS cloud footprint within Capital One. You will be responsible for delivering core infrastructure from code that the rest of our line of business depends on. This includes continued support, maintenance, and development of our core systems, enhancing our internal Customers' journeys on their path to CI/CD. Additionally, you will enhance our AWS account design, deployment, and validation mechanisms, and design, develop, and maintain high-quality Core Infrastructure services.

Required Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for someone with previous experience as a software engineer or infrastructure engineer. Experience of developing and managing APIs using Java & Springboot is essential. Familiarity with the concepts of infrastructure as code, test-driven development, and automated deployment of infrastructure solutions is also required. Strong scripting and automation skills in various languages (such as Python, Ruby, BASH, Powershell, and similar) are necessary. A solid understanding of Cloud / Virtual Compute platforms and their supporting infrastructure, including Full OS Machine Image and Container creation and management, is also required. Strong understanding of High Availability strategies, preferably with Cloud in mind, is essential. Good communication skills, willing to share and teach amongst peers, are also necessary.
