Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Doctor in Anaesthetics to join our dynamic team at the Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS. As a key member of our anaesthetic service, you will contribute to the provision of high-quality care to our patients, working closely with colleagues in critical care, surgery, and other clinical departments.
Main Duties
- Contribute to the development and implementation of anaesthetic services, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
- Participate in emergency out-of-hours on-call cover for general anaesthetics or obstetric anaesthesia, as required.
- Contribute to postgraduate and continuing education for medical, nursing, and technical staff, as well as other allied professions.
- Deputise for departmental colleagues in cases of annual leave and short-term sickness, as necessary.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent qualification.
- Completion of 3 years' training in anaesthesia.
- Ability to practice anaesthesia in general specialties, with experience of high-risk anaesthesia.
- GMC registration with a licence to practise.
Desirable Criteria
- Diploma in Anaesthesia or Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
- Evidence of anaesthesia audits.
- Broad experience of general anaesthesia and analgesia.
- Ability to motivate and develop junior medical staff.
