Job Summary:

The Caregiver for Independent Living will provide unskilled personal care and household services for clients in their homes. This position requires a compassionate and patient individual who can build trust with clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide companionship and social interaction to clients, engaging them in activities that promote mental and physical well-being;
  • Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, hair care, mouth care, and dressing, when skilled skin care, skilled transfer, or skilled dressing is not required;
  • Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and refreshments as needed;
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing client spaces;
  • Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination;

Qualifications:

  • Valid, current driver's license and access to a reliable automobile, or public transportation;
  • Completion of the appropriate twenty-hour training program, or successful completion of skills validation via direct observation of task performance;
  • Six months or more personal care experience in a home care setting preferred;

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $65,000 per year
