M&E Quantity Surveyor

Our client, Mech Electrics Limited, is seeking a skilled M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their team. As an M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in the successful delivery of projects, ensuring the financial and contractual aspects are managed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans, estimates, and forecasts.
- Monitor project costs, variations, and valuations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the project management team.
- Administer and manage the contractual obligations of the project, including subcontractor agreements, variations, and claims.
- Assist in the procurement process by preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and selecting appropriate subcontractors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with the design and construction teams to identify value engineering opportunities, optimize costs, and improve project efficiency.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities that may impact project costs, providing proactive advice and mitigating measures to minimize financial exposure.
- Assess and manage change requests, including variations, extensions of time, and claims, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and resolution of any commercial issues.
- Prepare and negotiate final accounts, ensuring all variations, claims, and additional works are accurately documented and accounted for.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Some years of experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor, within the construction industry. Previous experience on large-scale projects is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems, cost control principles, contract management, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard software.
- Excellent understanding of commercial and financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, cost planning, and cash flow management.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and cost calculations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, fostering positive working relationships and contributing to the overall success of the project.
- Adaptability to changing project requirements and priorities, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
