Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our team at esure Group. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will be responsible for designing, crafting, and supporting new technical products and services to support our business and its ambitious digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and construct digital and technical products using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
  • Collaborate with the team to set the technical direction for supported products and establish a robust automated test suite for seamless integration into a continuous deployment environment.
  • Provide 2nd line support for applications and platforms, occasionally beyond regular office hours.
  • Actively drive the enterprise Agile and transformation journey.

Requirements:

  • Developer experience in scaled Agile, with delivery partners and 3rd party applications.
  • Strong technical expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
  • Apache Kafka experience is desirable.
  • Expertise in microservices, database programming, event streaming, and queueing technologies in a cloud-based environment.
  • Effective communication of technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Worked on technical projects within cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge and practice of code quality techniques like continuous integration, unit testing, and peer reviews.
  • Rapid research and adaptation to new programming tools and techniques.
  • Experience in building and scaling high-traffic websites or mission-critical line-of-business systems.
  • Automated integration and acceptance testing experience, preferably with a BDD framework.
