We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Podiatrist to join our team at the University of Brighton. As a key member of our academic staff, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students across our BSc (Hons) Podiatry, pre-registration MSc Podiatry, and Post Graduate programmes.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in podiatry education, with experience in teaching and clinical supervision. You will be able to contribute to the development of our podiatry curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching methods and simulation opportunities. Your expertise will also be essential in enhancing the student experience and co-creating and delivering our popular and respected programmes.
As an Academic Podiatrist, you will also act as a personal tutor, using your interpersonal and pastoral care skills to support students. You will appreciate the needs of individual students and their circumstances, and refer students as appropriate to specialist services that can provide further help.
We are looking for a candidate with a postgraduate qualification in podiatry, who is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and has a Higher Education teaching qualification. You will also have recent professional experience as a senior practitioner, with up-to-date knowledge of current developments in health, including clinical, professional, and policy developments.
It is desirable to have post-graduate qualifications and an active research portfolio. If you have a Doctorate and can supervise at this level, you will have opportunities to develop as the university has an active programme for supporting early career researchers. Podiatry clinical experience in MSK is desirable, but we also have room in the team for podiatrists with any background experience to take up roles in educating students across a range of basic science and patient management skills.
