We are seeking two enthusiastic Educational Psychologists to join our Bolton Educational Psychology Service. Our team is small and supportive, working in a local authority that prioritizes Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and has strong relationships with our schools.
This role involves providing consultation and advice to parents, carers, children's services colleagues, health professionals, and other relevant stakeholders to support the needs of Bolton children and young people aged 0-25 years. The postholder will respond to requests for consultation, assessment, training, group work, and systemic work from schools, settings, and the Local Authority. The postholder will also undertake statutory assessments of children and write psychological advice as required. Additionally, the postholder will have the opportunity to be involved in project work such as supporting whole-school approaches to mental health and emotional wellbeing, specialist interest groups, family hubs, and the Critical Incident Support Service.
About YouWe are looking for enthusiastic Educational Psychologists with an excellent understanding of children and young people's cognitive, social, and emotional development. You will be an effective communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with children, young people, families, and all stakeholders. You will be fully committed to ensuring that the special educational needs of children and young people are met and their outcomes improved.
Applicants will be registered or eligible for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), with a degree in psychology and a recognized postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology. Applications are welcome from those completing training in 2025 (i.e., those in Year 3 of their training), and from those wishing to work full-time, part-time, or term-time.
