Job RequirementsWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Teacher of Physics to join our team at Harris Academy Merton. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, including lesson planning, developing resources, and assessing student progress
- Contributing to the development of the physics department, participating in staff meetings and training sessions, and engaging with parents and carers through regular communication
- Leading and managing their own work effectively, motivating students and raising their aspirations through a range of strategies
- Working as part of a team and developing and maintaining positive relationships with all staff
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Teacher of Physics who holds QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree. You should have successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally including experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and of working in an 11-18 school.
You should understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning, have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and be able to work as part of a team and develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff.
A good level of ICT skills, including innovative use of interactive whiteboards, is also essential.
